April was full of highs and lows for our family. Jordan and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! My parents came to visit as well as a friend. It's pretty easy for me to fall into my weekly mom routine of running errands around nap routines. Visitors are a good excuse to try new restaurants and experiences. Sadly, Jordan's grandmother passed away suddenly so we also spent a few days in Illinois celebrating her life.
If you've been reading for any length of time you might remember Phoenix hasn't been a great car traveler. And by not great I mean full on tears for hours, which has led us to booking hotels halfway to our destination. Maybe it is his age or maybe Phoenix knew we needed him to step up to the plate, but he was amazing. He hardly even fussed, took a long nap, and found ways to entertain himself. A true miracle.
On a side note, I'm sorry if you visited my site recently and experienced some glitches. It looks like my blog was hacked, but we fixed the issue! Or at least I hope so!
Celebrating | Phoenix's last few weeks of school! He attends a "parent's day out" program two days a week and has grown to love it. His teachers are so sweet.
Creating | My summer capsule wardrobe! I actually have had to buy several summer items. Phoenix wasn't even a year old at the beginning of summer last year and my body has continued to shift. My wardrobe isn't huge so I really don't need a capsule, but I thought it'd be a good exercise to narrow further into my personal style. If you aren't drawn to keep something in your capsule do you really like it?
I'm not interested in keeping "what if" items anymore.
Sharing | My food all day long. ;-) Phoenix has a good appetite, but you can't force him to eat something he doesn't want to eat. Which, unfortunately, is most meal kind of foods. Rice, pasta, most meat, potatoes, etc. BUT, I have discovered he'll eat more when it's on someone else's plate. Silly kid.
Going | To Michigan at the end of the month to visit with my brother's family! We're going on a few trips this summer. I love looking forward to a routine change.
