Hi.

Welcome! I’m Catherine. For me, it's important to stretch my mind, travel far, and always have a stash of dark chocolate.

Summer in Winter Park

Winter Park: East End Market Slowly, but surely I've worked my way through recapping our weekend in Orlando.

When Jordan and I travel, we try to use the wisdom of locals or friends who have vacationed the same location. It gives us a great foundation for our adventures. We definitely sought advice when traveling to Orlando, especially because we had limited time.

Besides visiting Walt Disney World and attending the Relevant Podcast Anniversary Show, Jordan and I had a few hours to explore Orlando. A friend (thanks, Chelsea!) steered us in the direction of Winter Park's East End Market. Jordan had a few work things to finalize, so we settled into our seats with coffee and breakfast in hand.

The market is composed of several artisanal vendors including bakers, cheese makers, coffee roasters and a raw salad/juice bar. I perused the different shops while playing with our new camera. We ate lunch at Skybird, a raw vegan and vegetarian salad and juice bar.

I've never eaten at a raw food restaurant; my knowledge comes solely from watching that one Sex and the City episode. We weren't exactly sure of what we were getting into but our shared entrée was delicious! We had zucchini pasta noodles with mariana and veggie meatballs. I need to invest in a spiralizer so I can recreate the zucchini noodles myself! Do you use one?

^ I was in love with all the grains, seeds and nuts stored in glass jars.

^ Besides selling bestsellers, cookbooks and children's books, this little bookstore specialized in Floridan authors.

We noticed a record store across the street from the market when we drove into town, so once we finished eating we jetted off. Whenever we are in a new city and within close proximity to a record store, it's inevitable. We're stopping. Jordan was extremely impressed with the selection at Park Ave CDs. He bought a few records he had been looking around for for many years. Success!

Downtown Winter Park is really cute with cobblestone streets and parks with beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed meandering into different stores and would have loved even more time to explore!   Winter Park: East End Market Winter Park: East End Market
