The holiday season is full of everything I love: romantic moments, great music, fun-filled movies, amazing food and lots of time with friends and family. Unfortunately, the art of gift buying (and dealing with parking and lines at the mall) can add a lot of unneeded stress to our lives. Over the years I have gotten better about paying attention to stores and certain items I know will make a great gift throughout the year. This way once Christmastime comes, at least I have a vague starting point.
I hope my list gives you some great ideas!
On Friday, the latest episode of Vernacular Podcast will feature me talking about this gift guide! We also give a sneak peek to a fun giveaway that'll start on Friday which includes some of our favorite regional items! Make sure to come back on and enter!

Subscription Boxes (Jewelry, Beauty) | Subscription boxes are all the rage now, from food to fitness to beauty you, the gifter, will be able to find a box that fits the interest of your receiver! Birchbox is popular for many reasons but I like how you can choose to send either a year or three-month subscription. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
Earrings | Simple and delicate. Anyone will like these earrings!
Candle | Who doesn't love candles? I love how the glass is from recycled wine bottles.
Scarf | Buying clothes is tricky because sizing is not universal. You'll never need to worry about sizing with scarves! This scarf from Five Sparrows has several color options.
Book | Bread & Wine is more than just a cookbook, it's a love letter to community and gathering around the table. You'll be encouraged to gather friends and loved ones for simple or elaborate meals and learn that sharing a meal gives life.

Barbatus Beard Balm | To help tame your man's mane. This is an all natural blend of almond oil, shea butter, beeswax, cocoa butter and essential oils. A portion of the proceeds go to Catholic Youth Ministries.
OLO Cologne | Essential oil blend cologne with notes of tobacco, whiskey, wood. It has a very pleasant sweet aroma while being very masculine. Jordan wears it and I love it.
The Obstacle is the Way | Ryan Holiday, former director of marketing for American Apparel, has written for Forbes, Fast Company, The Huffington Post, ThoughtCatalog, and is a current media columnist for the New York Observer. "...how we respond to obstacles is what defines us. Holiday argues that obstacles don't inhibit success, they create success and that readers should see "through the negative, past its underside, and into its corollary: the positive." Jordan ate this book up!
Apple TV | Cable boxes, DVD players, and game systems create clutter around the TV. The new Apple TV that was released this fall and is so inconspicuous you almost don't even notice it and yet it has everything you need to watch your favorite movies and television shows. Apple really improved the interface and with the addition of a touch pad remote which invokes Siri, searching for anything is super easy! The AirPlay option is one of my favorite features.
Record Player | All homes should have a record player. The sound is warm and inviting. We really like our NuMark player (speakers sold separately.) We enjoy digging through piles of used records at flea markets and thrift stores. You never know what gems you'll find!
