This weekend is shaping up to be a great one. My parents arrived last night AND the Olympics begin tonight! As of Saturday, we will have survived parenting a newborn at home for one week! In between feedings, diaper changes and doctors appointments Jordan and I tried to maintain some semblance of normalcy. Doing the small things that make you feel good are really important!
I also tried to steal time away to write Phoenix's birth story and reflection on my c-section recovery. Those will be shared at a later date. If you have any questions regarding c-section recovery I'd love to be able to answer those in my post.
Onto the links!
The Pans Every Baker Should Own | Somehow I've lasted all of these years without a springform pan and round cake pans. A springform pan would be helpful for the cheesecakes I mean to make.
So You're Thinking of Voting for a Pro-Choice Candidate | Rachel Held Evans's blog post is one of the more intelligible reads on the political wasteland we find ourselves in. No matter your stance I highly encourage you to read this.
"We have to work together—pro-life and pro-choice, Democrat and Republican, conservative Christian and progressive Christian—to create a culture of life that celebrates families and makes it easier to have and raise kids. This is the only way to make our efforts at rarifying abortion truly sustainable."
DIY Car Ramp for Kids | I am so glad Kate wrote a post explaining how to make the car ramp her boys play with regularly. I envision Jordan building one for Phoenix!
11 Ideas for What to Post to Snapchat | I love how as soon as I begin to understand Snapchat, Instagram throws a wrench into the system! Either way, Helene's list of post ideas are a good starting point when you're feeling stuck.
Happy Weekend, all!
I forgot to mention this but a few weeks ago Jordan and I were guests on Vernacular Podcast discussing how to make the ideal road trip playlist. Do you agree with our system? What is your favorite music to listen to in the car?
