Welcome! I’m Catherine. For me, it's important to stretch my mind, travel far, and always have a stash of dark chocolate.

Weekend Links / / Gift Guide Edition

gift guide How is Christmas next week already? I'm hardly prepared! Jordan's youngest sisters flew in late Wednesday night to visit with us for the week. Lately life feels full and overwhelming, so having family around to help with Phoenix is a blessing. Speaking of family, we took family photos this week. Jordan and I opt to send New Years cards. It's less stressful that way. Phoenix did so well. We were so proud of him! He even treated us to an epic meltdown on the car ride home. ;-)

It was only last year I wrote about taking family photos when nothing has changed. It felt very full circle to be here, a year later, taking family photos when so much has changed. I'm excited to share the photos soon. If you would like a New Years card message me your address!

This week got away from me, so instead of my usual blog reads I'm sliding in a gift guide! Maybe you finished your holiday shopping months ago but if you are like me, and tend to start early but end late, I have a few more suggestions. None of these items are holiday specific, so they could be given for a birthday too!

Onto the links!

Candles | I don't think I've met someone who doesn't enjoy lit candles in their home. Astleigh's shop, Twine and Cotton, has a Stars Hallow scent which I recently purchased for myself! Its mix of eucalyptus, juniper berry, and fresh sage is perfect for the holidays.

Bathing Suit Pot | Quirky and kitschy, the perfect pot for plants!

Multi-Use Nursing Cover | A day doesn't go by without someone commenting on my multi-use cover from Covered Goods. It fits perfectly over Phoenix's carseat to block the sun/wind while also being a nursing cover. I even use it at work when I pump! Every mom needs one.

Art | Do you have a friend who recently moved? Why not gift them with framed art? Finding and hanging art is often the last thing that happens after someone moves. Before Jordan became interested in photography, we actually purchased and framed digital prints from an online seller. We still have them hung on our walls!

Simple Jewelry | Jordan and I attended the Wardrobe Project put on by Nashville Fashion Alliance this fall. Local designers were selling clothes, shoes, hand bags and accessories. I bought a pair of simple twist earnings from Portmanteau and have worn them everyday since! They are malleable and more comfortable than any stud earrings I've owned.

I + W Marl Watch Cap | The classic wool beanie everyone needs. Well, unless you live in Florida. ;-)

Cordoba Leather Backpack | If you have someone on your list you want to splurge on, I highly suggest this leather backpack. Jordan uses it as his everyday bag. It is the perfect size for the essentials (laptop, notepad, planner, etc) but its high quality and ethically made. If taken care of properly, it's an item that'll last for years.

Easy Decorative Mirror | This mirror would be the perfect addition to add-on someone's vanity, dresser or even bookcase.

Happy Weekend, all!
