Welcome! I’m Catherine. For me, it's important to stretch my mind, travel far, and always have a stash of dark chocolate.

Weekend Links / / Frist Center, Structure and Closet Basics

Weekend Links / / Frist Center, Structure and Closet Basics On Monday Jordan and I brought Phoenix to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Nashville's art museum (we visited a few years ago). It was his first visit to a museum and he LOVED looking at the different exhibits. Well, until he was done and ready to go home and to bed. Phoenix is very much like me when it comes to bedtime. When he's ready he is ready.

At the beginning of the year I wasn't ready to commit to many goals. There was very little structure to our days but now that Phoenix actually naps I am challenging myself to manage my time more wisely. I'm playing around with designating a day to a specific task, i.e grocery shopping on Mondays, cleaning on Tuesdays, etc. I am excited to see the positive change this slight shift will make in my week.

Moms of littles, how do you structure your days?

Onto the links!

Closet Basics | About half of my closet I love and the other half I'm indifferent to. Breastfeeding dictates most of my clothing decisions but it won't always be that way. Natalie's mom staples are inspiring me to think about ways to elevate closet basics.

I just ordered a new pair of workout pants. The one pair I own is low-rise and isn't flattering or comfortable anymore. I actually don't like wearing leggings regularly but considering I'm trying to find ways to workout I figured my workout gear needed an upgrade.

Roasted Asparagus with Balsamic & Parmesan | Roasting is my favorite way to prepare vegetables. I just bought a huge bag of broccoli and brussel sprouts at Costco but during my next trip I am going to buy asparagus. We only ever ate asparagus on Sundays or special meals. I'm not sure why.

What You Really Need For Motherhood | Grace, patience, endurance and lots of caffeine.

How To Make Simple Syrup | Do you prefer your coffee hot or cold? Unless I am drinking it uninterrupted, I prefer drinking iced coffee. The key to iced coffee though is a) double strength brewing and b) simple syrup. If you add sugar to your coffee you want it in liquid form. I always forget how simple making simple syrup is. Next time I want to infuse mine with vanilla.

Tip: Freeze leftover coffee in ice cubes and add it to your iced coffee!

5 Planter Ideas for Indoor Plants | I was so impressed when I saw a friend  use a coffee mug as a succulent planter. Everyone has extra coffee mugs around but I never would have thought to use it for plants.

Happy Weekend, all!
