My little baby started school this week! He's in a twelve-month class two days a week. This is such a blessing as it gives us more childcare consistency. Phoenix is adjusting (particularly learning to nap with other kids), but I know he'll grow to love going.

As you know, this week was heavy. While preparing Phoenix and myself for school (and starting new work projects) Charlottesville happened. To be quite honest with you, I missed a lot of the aftermath. Phoenix is all consuming and it's easy for me to completely miss major cultural events.

I want to stay informed, so I'm listening to podcasts and trying to educate myself on what to do...where to go from here?

Jordan and I are debating putting wallpaper on one wall in our living room. I kind of like the idea of using removable wallpaper. Do you have wallpaper in your house?

A family friend drove through town and dropped off a bunch of vegetables from my parent's garden! I made tomato sauce over the weekend, but I want to make slow roasted tomatoes with the rest. Teresa's mediterranean tabouleh salad sounds like the perfect way to use all of the cucumbers we now have in our fridge. I am going to substitute the wheat bulgar for quinoa as that is what I have on hand.

This picture hanger is fun way to use up a bunch of extra paint sticks you might have lingering in your house!

We live in a food obsessed culture. While everyone claims claims they've discovered "the right way to eat," overall we aren't any healthier. I like Kylie's suggestion to create your own personal commandment. This reminded me of Michael Pollan's famous how to eat quote, “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

"He ends his book [Food Rules] with Rule 64: “Break the rules once in a while.” Decades of obsessing about nutrition — eating low-fat this and low-carb that, drinking sugar-free sodas and vitamin-enhanced water — haven’t made us thinner or healthier."

I almost forgot to mention, but Abbey (a fellow Nashville blogger) was kind enough to include me in her Tuesday Feature series. I had a lot of fun answering her questions -- including my favorite beauty products and a travel dream of mine.
